How does Online Learning Work?
We understand the indirect cost of training. Being in a lecture room cuts productivity. Learning at your own pace in your own space promotes efficient learning.
Our online learning platform also reduces travel time to and from the training venue.
Health and Safety training courses comprises of theoretical and practical components. Let’s take Level 1 First Aid, for example. It’s a two-day course, usually. Instead of students being tied up in theory lectures on day one, we’ve developed this component to be available online. This means students can now read through the course material online, and then take a quiz after each section that evaluates their understanding.
Once they’ve completed all the sections, they progress to a final exam covering all the material learnt. After successfully passing the theoretical component, they are guided onto a calendar to book their practical session at a convenient time and venue that suits them.
Practical sessions consist of a theory wrap-up, during which students are guided on incorrectly answered questions during their online theoretical module. The skills module is based on case-study scenarios presented to test their theoretical acumen. During these cases, the practical component of the selected course is taught and applied. Once the student displays competence through all the practical sessions, they are finally assessed and certified for the course enrolled. Achievement of both the theoretical and practical components earns the qualification. Students have direct access to print their own certificates. These are downloaded from the TLS website. No more waiting for your certificate. And, if it gets lost somehow, students have three access opportunities to reprint their certificates.
Our interactive process provides annual reminders of expiring certification, at which time students are invited to renew their certification.
